These own training resources are:

  • Animal production laboratory with all the equipment corresponding to this type of facilities, particularly equipment for chemical analysis of feed (Weende and Van Soest analysis) and in vitro digestibility of feed for ruminants. Likewise, the Animal Production Area has been collaborating for years with farms and livestock companies where field tests are carried out under controlled conditions.
  • Soil science and agricultural chemistry laboratories, consisting of a sample preparation and preliminary operations laboratory, a routine analysis laboratory and a research laboratory.
  • Instrumental techniques laboratory (gas chromatography, HPLC, atomic absorption and graphite chamber, UV absorption spectrophotometer, mercury analyzer, respirometry and microwave equipment for sample digestion).
  • Laboratory for determining the physical properties of soils (with pF equipment for determining water in the soil, equipment for determining hydraulic permeability, ultrasonic disintegration probe, aggregate separator, vacuum equipment for determining actual density, among others).
  • Laboratory for the determination of chemical properties of soils and plant samples (with LECO autoanalyzer for C and N analysis in solid samples, TOC-SKALAR autoanalyzer for Cy N analysis in liquid samples).
  • Laboratory for determination of biochemical properties of soils (with the necessary equipment for biomass analysis, microbial activity and enzymatic activities).
  • Greenhouses. Fully automated glass greenhouse and several plastic greenhouses (one of which is used exclusively for research).
  • Composting workshops. For pilot composting experiments, consisting of different types of biodigesters.
  • Laboratories, equipment and various facilities of the Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León that will be directly linked to the doctoral program:
    • Laboratory for analysis of wastewater, slurry, poultry manure and other organic wastes.
Analysis equipment for COD, BOD5, NKT, ammonia nitrogen, nitrates, nitrites, total and suspended solids, volatile solids, non-food fiber and microbiological analysis.
    • Facilities for the operation of anaerobic, aerobic and raceway reactors for microalgae cultivation.
    • Laboratory for drying, sieving and milling of soil and plant samples.
    • Chemical analysis laboratories, equipped with instruments for this type of facilities.
    • Seed laboratory, with automatic scales, drying ovens, cold storage, grain counting equipment, moisture and specific weight meters.
    • Tools for soil sampling, penetrometer, CO2 flow meter and dielectric constant probe for soil moisture measurements.
    • Zamadueñas farm in Valladolid, equipped with tractors, a truck, two direct seeding machines, conventional seeding machines, equipment for seedbed preparation, fertilizer spreaders and sprayers, seed preparation and treatment equipment, various threshing and harvesting machinery and agricultural weather station.
    • Pilot plants for baking, milling and production of fermented and baked products.
    • Equipment for measuring the physical and chemical properties of foods: Rheometer, texturometer, rheofermentometer, alveograph, consistograph, RVA, texturometer, colorimeter, spectrophotometers, chromatographs, viscometers, pH-meters, conductivity meters, among others.
    • Pilot plant for beer brewing.
